Civil engineering

Civil engineering, which is more complex in terms of building technology and requires specialist knowledge, makes up approximately one-quarter of the company’s portfolio. The construction of ports, bridges and environmental protection structures as well as water and sewerage utilities differs significantly from that of ordinary buildings, necessitating greater involvement of experts and capable supervision.

We have the know-how and the specialists required in this field. In order to carry out innovative, more complex and less widely represented technological solutions in the Estonian building sector we can call on a team of experts from our parent company which has almost 100 years of experience in civil engineering in Scandinavia.

We have provided such construction services since 1997, when AS Keskkonnaehitus was founded. This environmental construction subsidiary, which had at first operated independently, became a structural division within the company in 2001.

The following list represents just some of the civil engineering works we have completed:

• The Paikre waste disposal site in Paikuse municipality in Pärnu County and the Paikre Household Waste Sorting Centre in Pärnu (2004-2006)

• Construction of the Viljandi waste water treatment plant and utility lines (2003-2005)

• Construction work on the Harku 330 kV substation in Harju County (2003-2005)

• Design and construct contracting on berths 14 and 15 of Muuga Harbour (2003-2004)

• Construction of access road and storm water sewer at Tallinn waste disposal site (2002-2003)

• Tõnismägi substation building and cable tunnels on Kaarli Avenue in Tallinn (2003)

• Reconstruction of berths 2 and 3 of the Southern Port of Paldiski (2001-2002)

• Reconstruction of slip road 13A at Muuga Harbour (2001)
