YIT Ehitus completes construction work on Villa Benita at Niitvälja

April 3, 2008

14 months after construction began, YIT Ehitus has completed work on Villa Benita, the luxury nursing home at Niitvälja in Keila municipality, and transferred the complex to its owners, OÜ Herteros. The total cost of construction was 120 million kroons.

“The roughly 14 months of work we have put in have really paid off,” said Chairman of the AS YIT Ehitus Management Board Priit Sauk. “Construction is complete and the nursing home is ready to take in its first clients. The design and construction of the complex meet all the needs of modern nursing homes and provide a truly high-quality living environment. It represents the first project of its kind in Estonia, and I’m glad that it was YIT who was entrusted with the architectural and interior design work for such a luxurious project.”

Sauk describes the village in more detail: “In construction terms it was a really interesting project: the complex is in a cross shape, branching out in four directions, with each arm of the cross then culminating in a T shape. Every imaginable angle and supporting structure is used. The exterior is a combination of wood and insulated rendering, with wooden buttresses between the materials projecting out of the walls. There are also wooden buttresses beneath the roof guttering. Inside some really interesting floor and wall coverings have been used, such as cork for the walls, and a lot of rooms are carpeted in different colours.”

The total area of the two-storey building is 5500 m². The ground floor features the home’s one and two-room apartments, while the first floor houses a nursing hospital. The social areas are at the centre of the complex, including a café, dining room, library, conference room, sports hall, massage room and sauna. There are also offices for care and medical staff. The complex also has its own kitchen, laundry, hairdresser and more. Managing the nursing home will be OÜ Villa Benita.
