Today, May 5, mayor of Viljandi, Kalle Jents, manager of MA Viljandi Sport centre, Mati Jürisson, and Toomas Rapp, Western Estonia Regional Manager of YIT Ehitus, signed a contract for the construction of a new rowing slipway building.
The construction cost is 8,2 million kroons. The building will be located at Viljandi beach, next to the rowing club and it is scheduled for completion in the end of the current year. YIT Ehitus is the main contractor until full serviceability of the slipway and is responsible for the compilation and handing over of documentation (incl. maintenance and usage manuals).
“The slipway will significantly improve the training conditions for rowers and the storage conditions for inventory,” said Regional Manager of YIT Ehitus, Toomas Rapp. “There are modern conditions for storing and repairing boats in the new slipway. Also it is easy to launch many boats at the same time from the new pier, including the biggest eight-seat boat.”
