Chairman of YIT Group to take part in Tallinn rally

In the starting line-up for the Tallinn rally, which begins today, will be Chairman of the Board of the YIT Group, Hannu Leinonen. His navigator will be Asko Sairanen. They will be competing under the Finnish flag in the A8 class in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 5.

The rally will be the second of its kind for Leinonen, while Sairanen is an experienced navigator, having won, amongst others, the Tallinn rally in 2000 in a Ford Escort Cosworth with Saku Vierimaa. Leinonen and Sairanen will be competing as part of the Würth Sport rally team in car number 35. Also on the team are Kari Ali-Rantala and Petri Vihavainen in car 10, who will be aiming to win the event.

This year, as we did last year, we will be supporting the Tallinn rally, as well as sponsoring the Purikad hockey club and the volleyball team from the Estonian University of Life Sciences. The best-known athlete we have given our backing to is tennis star Kaia Kanepi.”

The first speed trial of the Koger&Partnerid Tallinn Rally 2008 will be on 9 May at 6.00 pm at Tallinn’s Song Festival Grounds, with 10 trials in total over two days covering a distance of 457.57 km.
