Grand opening of Kilingi-Nõmme Secondary School’s gymnasium

Today marked the grand opening of Kilingi-Nõmme Secondary School’s gymnasium, constructed by YIT Ehitus. The cost of construction work came to 26 million kroons.
“We won the contract for the building work on the new gymnasium for Kilingi-Nõmme Secondary School through a state tender organised by Riigi Kinnisvara AS,” explained Chairman of the Board of AS YIT Ehitus Priit Sauk. “We have a lot of experience building sports structures – in addition to Kilingi-Nõmme Secondary School’s gymnasium we have also built the sports centre in Rakvere, the athletics centre and the gym for schools in the centre of Pärnu and the gymnasium and swimming pool for Saku Secondary School.”
Toomas Rapp, the Regional Manager of YIT Ehitus in Western Estonia, says that the brand new gymnasium has a total area of 1792 m² and comprises two parts: the sports hall itself and the adjoining rooms. “The new gymnasium has a basketball court designed to international measurements which will allow supporters to follow games,” he explained. “It also has a gym, aerobics room, squash court and changing rooms with saunas and showers. It will be open for use not just by the school, but by anyone who wants to. I have no doubt it will become the centre for sports in Kilingi-Nõmme.”
